Story
Our family has been in the hotel industry for over 45 years. During Covid quarantine, we had time to brainstorm areas of improvement in the hotel industry. One aspect that struck us were the countless pounds of hotel linens that get disposed and end up in landfills. In 2021, Kayla (9), Siena (9) and Rylan (7) had the idea to upcycle these linens. Rylan was working on a research project at school on ways to recycle, reuse and repurpose which inspired them to make change. This was the concept of Step of Loveâ„¢, Inc. Step of Loveâ„¢, Inc committed to transforming hotel linens into valuable products for those in need. Each of us can take a Step of Love together to help those in need.
​Our mission at Step of Love is composed of two main goals. The first is the clear environmental need in the hospitality industry, which is to keep linens out of the landfills by recycling them and converting them into redesigned bedding. Our second goal is to upcycle linens and donate them to those in need, including home insecure (homeless) and pets. Step of Love plans on taking substandard linens from hotels and gathering teams to help repurpose linens for those in need.
